Lawrence tries not to think of Oscars

LOS ANGELES: Jennifer Lawrence, who stands a chance to win the best actress Academy award for her work in Silver Linings Playbook, doesn’t want to think about what it might be like to win the coveted prize. The Oscar ceremony is to take place here February 24.

The 22-year-old admits she would love to win, but she is trying to keep her excitement in check.“It’s very important to separate work from your personal life. If you don’t separate it, then it blends into your personal life. For my career — yes I hope, knock on wood — that I win, but I don’t have a personal interest in it,” contactmusic.com quoted Lawrence as saying.

“I am not going to cry myself to sleep if it doesn’t happen. I’m still going to be happy, I’m still going to be me, I’m still going to have my friends and I will be fine,” she added. Nevertheless, she was pleasantly surprised upon getting nominated. It is her second nomination after she was once in the run for the award for Winter’s Bone in 2011.

She is also proud to be included in a list that also features talents like Jessica Chastain, Emmanuelle Riva, Quvenzhane Wallis and Naomi Watts. “It’s really exciting, but it never sinks in. I am so in the zone when I am working that when you hear it, you are like ‘Wow’,” she added.
