NEW YORK: Nicki Minaj and Steven Tyler have been caught in a war of words after the Aerosmith frontman criticised the fight between her and her fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey calling it their lack of camaraderie.

“They should have something going on so thick and beautiful that they can lay it over the new talent that’s trying to birth itself,” the New York Post quoted him as saying in an interview with MTV News.

“These kids, they just got out of a car from the Midwest somewhere and they’re in New York City, they’re scared to death; you’re not going to get the best (out of them),” he said.

But it was 64-year-old musician’s following comment that angered Minaj, “If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”

An angry Minaj responded on her Twitter “Steven Tyler said I would have sent Bob Dylan to a cornfield??? Steven, you haven’t seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet!”

Deepika Padukone injured during Ram Leela shoot

Deepika Padukone suffered a few bruises and scratches on her arms and feet during the shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next tentatively titled film "Ram Leela".

A source reveals, “Deepika was wearing a heavy ghagra choli and weighty jewellery for a song she was shooting that day. Ranveer Singh (co-actor) was also dressed in a dhoti. But he was wearing lots of bracelets and armlets. The choreographer required him to lift her around the place for the song, which is how his accessories ended up bruising her.”

The actors were shooting the song at the set which has been created at Film City, Goregaon. Since they were also required to stay barefoot for the traditional number, Deepika apparently even developed blisters on her right sole.

“But none of that deterred her from completing the shoot. She didn’t utter a word. It was only after the crew noticed her wound that the situation was brought to the director’s notice,” adds the source.

Mexican beauty queen shot dead in Gang shoot out

Its really sad to write that a Mexican beauty queen Maria Susana Flores Gamez was gunned down Saturday in a shootout between members of a drug cartel and military patrolmen.

According to The Associated Press, Gamez was traveling with the former group when guns were drawn. An assault rifle was discovered near her body.

"She was with the gang of criminals, but we cannot say whether she participated in the shootout," says state prosecutor Marco Antonio Higuera. "That's what we're going to have to investigate."

Gamez was a passenger in one of the vehicles that engaged soldiers in an extended chase and bullet battle on Saturday. The incident took place near her hometown of Guamuchil and two other members of the gang were killed, while four were detained following the hours-long standoff.

It's actually not uncommon for beauty pageant contestants in Mexico to get involved with drug cartels. The 2011 movie Miss Bala focused on this association and won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Gamez was voted the 2012 Woman of Sinaloa in February. She then lost a subsequent pageant that would have put her on track to compete for Mexico in Miss Universe.
