Silver Linings Playbook

Silver Linings Playbook is an American romantic comedy-drama film directed by David O. Russell,from a screenplay by Russell, adapted from the novel of the same name by Matthew Quick. The film stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, with Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker, Anupam Kher and Julia Stiles in supporting roles.

It is a movie about former teacher Pat Solitano who moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own.



Silver Linings Playbook premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2012 and was released in the United States on November 16, 2012. The film opened to major critical success and earned numerous accolades. It received eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director for Russell, in addition to achieving the rare feat of being nominated in all four acting categories, the first time since Reds in 1981, and also being nominated for the Big Five, the first time since Million Dollar Baby in 2004, four Golden Globe Award nominations, with Lawrence winning Best Actress; three BAFTA nominations, with David O. Russell winning for Best Adapted Screenplay; four Screen Actors Guild nominations, with Lawrence winning Best Actress; and five Independent Spirit Award nominations.

It has collected $6.4M last weekend.
